I think children should start to learn a foreign language in the first or second grade. At this time they no the basic English and could start learning a new language. I think it would also be a lot easier for them to remember too.
I think that a great age to speaking spanish for children is when they start kindergarten. I think this would be a great time because this is when they actually start school and they would be in the habit of speaking correct spanish, just like they correctly learn how to do math and speak english. It would all come natural to them, just like speaking english for us. Therefore i think children should learn a foreign language when they first start kindergarten.
I think younger children should start to learn spanish in second grade. That way they would have years of experience in speeking spanish, before they get to high school.
I have been teaching Spanish for 15 years. I am also the Spanish Club advisor. This year should be very exciting, and I am looking forward to it!! My husband and I enjoy camping and going to Disney World with our two children.
